  it all began, when magnus' summer jobs didn't earn him enough to buy the desired video camera. but he could get his first 35mm camera. he was 15.

born in 1974, raised in southern germany, he moved to dallas, texas to attend high school in 1991. his degree in photography with magna cum laude and best portfolio was awarded to him from the art institute of dallas.

in 1997, he relocated back to germany, worked as a staff photographer for avcommunication in stuttgart, and later as freelance. at that time, magnus mainly photographed architecture, products, and events, but his work also included people, and portraits for advertising, and image campaigns.

during a brief return to the usa 2001/2002, magnus attended the new york film academy, and in 2003 he assisted fashion photographer werner pawlok in germany.

magnus relocated to tokyo in 2005.

photographing people had always fascinated him. seeing himself as "creator", he immersed himself completely in the fashion and portrait field, and works mainly now for designers, magazines, and music artist. he shoots promotional work, editorials, image and look books, and fashion campaigns among other.

some of his photo credits include work for texas computing magazine, the dallas symphony association, ymca dallas, bose, eurofighter, staatliche modeschule stuttgart, k&l ruppert, marc cain gmbh, tools tokyo, tigermusic, salonista, ktm, aprilla, galsville, meeko, eastpak, and quiksilver.

he also photographed various artist including satomi, edward's operation, the possible, 6.2, jj, lite, and thread.

early on, magnus has also received several awards for his photography such as the dallas society of visual communications award in 1995 and 1996.

further recognition for his work came through various group exhibitions and solo shows.
some exhibition highlights were the solo at galerie pps colorservice, stuttgart, 11/2002-11/2003, an exhibition solo at junge galerie treffpunkt rotebühlplatz, 09/2003-10/2003, and recently a 4-week solo at the spoonbread gallery, tokyo 04/2008.
